Well, we are back into the swing of things! Today was the sixth day of school, and it was the day we finally got out the iPads. I was actually a bit surprised that our Darth Vader looking iPad cabinets hadn’t created more of a stir – I don’t think any of the kids ever asked “When are we going to use the iPads?” I guess I’ve just been keeping them too engaged with everything else!
But, that could have to do with how many kids have already used iPads before. 100% of the kids said they had used an iPad before and 100% of the kids have an iPad at home!
I wanted to jump into using the iPads as a creation tool, so after a quick chat about our rules and then setting up our wallpapers, we got onto creating.
We are working on making a little presentation that shares some of the highlights of Grade 4 so far. We used the camera and iMovie to throw together a little presentation which they can leave for their parents to watch at Back to School Night next week.
I’m excited to be getting our technology usage going again. After the success we had last year I think we can repeat some of our successful projects and build on others to keep the kids creating. One of my big goals is also to do more communicating and connecting with the greater world. I’ve got some ideas and plans, so more about that soon!
