11:32 PM London time – location unknown …
I’m current at some altitude over the earth, somewhere over Europe or Asia, but unfortunately it’s too dark and I can’t figure out how to get my TV screen up to look at the map! So, I am somewhere flying above the ground and patiently anticipating my arrival in Delhi and the start of the iPad Summit at the American Embassy School.
As a teacher, I think too often we slip into thinking of school as work, when it should be about learning. Being able to attend this conference is a great way to get back in touch with the profession as a learning experience. We’re not just teachers, but learners, and sometimes we need to step out of our everyday routine to get re-energized and re-inspired and to see what else is happening beyond the walls of our school.
This should be an amazing week full of learning – about technology and about teaching, but also about culture and a very different place in the world. I am so thankful that I have this opportunity and that ASL supports its teachers in taking on learning experiences such as these!
I look forward to sharing some reflections and commentary of what’s happening at an amazing school and in the world of educational technology … and about the city of Delhi and (what I anticipate to be) its fantastic food!
Lots of learning to come over the next few days!
Now … I think it’s time for a movie!
Update: I’m now posting this from Delhi. We’ve arrived!
